*UPDATE – The owner contacted us and had someone come in and fix all the damage caused by the crew that moved us. The person he sent did an awesome job, my furniture looks brand new. I would definitely feel confident recommending this company now. The owner showed that he cared and definitely made it right. This is exactly how a business should be run! He’s a stand up guy and I know he has a great crew under him now.

I typically do not like to give such a poor review of a company, but a month and a half after my move I am still finding damage to my belongings. The owner came out to our home and inventoried all our belongings and gave us a very detailed quote, and we were very impressed. We decided to go ahead and hire him based on this meeting and the quote which we found very reasonable. Unfortunately, that is pretty much where the good experience ended. On the day of the move, the crew showed up with no locks for the trucks, and without a dolly to move the furniture.The trucks were supposed to park back to back in the driveway of our new home to compensate for the fact that they didn’t have locks, but only one truck made it to the house. The owner was very responsive when we called to find out where the other truck was and made sure to track it down and put a lock on it. I thought that was where the trouble would end, I was wrong. The next day, the crew arrived again without a dolly to move the furniture. They damaged in some way pretty much all of my nice furniture. They broke the footboard of my bed when moving it out of my old house, they were supposed to fix it by the next day but couldn’t be bothered. They took a chunk out
of my dresser and scratched it. They gouged my night stand, broke the doors on my TV stand, gouged up the walls in my new house and scratched up my dining room table. Not many of my belongings made it through unscathed. These are things I spent my hard earned money on and paid a good amount of money to have them safely moved. I expected some damage, but not this much. Once we paid, we noticed that they had put a charge for 2 overnights and we only had one overnight. We contacted the owner and because of the service he was very nice and refunded some of our money. We thought this was a refund for the erroneous charge and the issues with the locks and the missing truck so we were pleased with that credit. We paid $150 for insurance for our belongings in the event of damage, so as we started to discover the damage to our belongings we reached out to the owner to ask about the insurance and we were told he had already given us a refund of some of our
money and asked us not to “abuse him”, I

thought the refunded money was for the poor service provided by his crew, I didn’t realize that he would think a $500 credit would make up for damaging nearly all of my furniture. I was actually
offended by him asking us not to abuse him, your crew showed 0 care or respect for my
property and I thought I paid for insurance to
protect me in the event of damage. In fairness, i understand the owner has hired new people who are very professional and terminated some of the people who were on this job, but l am not sure how that is any consolation to me. I stopped even reporting the damage to my belongings because it was clear to me that he thought he had done enough to make up for it. Again, the owner is a professional and is running an honest business but I don’t think that hiring people who clearly don’t respect him or his business or his customers should be my loss.

Prompt arrival. Care taken with our belongings. Despite the fact that they charge by the hour, these guys were hustling! You usually expect a slower pace in that situation but not these guys. Wow! From the get go the Moving Crew was great. My wife and I were moving from a third floor apartment and needed help. I contacted six movers and after speaking with and receiving quotes from them all, the Moving Crew were the most friendly and professional. the price wasn’t the cheapest, but it was competitive and fair. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

Josh and James could not have been friendlier and more helpful during the quote and pre-move communication. On the day of the move the team was professional, friendly, efficient, and careful. These men know what they are doing and how to do it efficiently. The price quoted was the exact price in the end. There were no hidden fees or surprises.

This is the third time we have hired movers and the Moving Crew has by far been the best. There is enough stress in moving (packing, changing addresses, etc), do yourself a favor and hire this company so you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Wow.

It was the morning of my move, on a busy moving weekend, and my original plans had fallen through. I called all the local moving companies: I left messages at all but one, which was full for the whole weekend. Then James called me back, made a space for me in his schedule where there really wasn’t one, and saved the day.

The crew (headed up by Bill) was professional, friendly, considerate, fast, and thorough. They made sure I understood the costs involved, and ensured that I had gotten everything I wanted in the truck. They checked with me on delicate items, handled everything carefully, and made short work of it, too. And — and I know this is a small thing, but it made all the difference — they were personable and +likeable+. When you’re entrusting all your earthly belongings to a stranger, you want them to feel like a friend. These guys did, and that’s a first in my experience.

I can’t recommend The Moving Crew highly enough. I wish Yelp allowed six-star reviews for exceptional cases.

Just moved from our 4 bedroom house in Spencer to a new house about an hour away. The Moving Crew was right on time, fast, and very professional and courteous. All the furniture was carefully protected and wrapped, and everything was handled with care. They put down protective mats on the floors.

Fantastic Movers
I used the Fresh Start Moving Crew for the second part of my move on July 5, 2017. They were fantastic!! I would highly recommend this mover to all my friends, family and neighbors. They were punctual, courteous, friendly, professional, respectful, nice and patient.

The first part of my move in May 2017 was an extremely unpleasant experience with another moving company who had scammed me. I called Fresh Start Movers to do the second part of my move after I realized my belongings were not stored properly, many glass items were not wrapped and most of my things were just thrown into the storage unit. I explained my horrible experience to Mary (the office manager) and James (the owner) of Fresh Start Moving. They were very sympathetic and understanding of what I had gone through a few months prior. They were aware of the fact that I wanted to go slow with this move, as I needed to take pictures as evidence against the first movers I hired. James even gave me tips regarding who to call (AG, BBB, MAPU, FMCSA) and what websites to visit to make a case against the other company. They took the time to explain the situation to the 5 guys who they sent to my house for the move. They did everything in their power to make sure I had a positive experience for the second part of my move.

The guys could not have been more wonderful, cooperative and patient as I took pictures of my damaged belongings. They were horrified to see how everything was packed. They explained to me the right and wrong way to pack, wrap and store specific household items. They told me how things SHOULD have been packed.

James gave me one guy for free and also an hour of moving time for free. I think he felt badly about everything I had gone through with the first part of my move. He even came back to pick up the majority of my boxes for me so I didn’t have to dispose of them myself. He also agreed to sign a letter for the Attorney General regarding all of the damage to my furniture and how the other movers incorrectly packed most of my items.

Thank you Fresh Start Movers, you made me have faith in moving companies again!!!! I wish I had hired you for the first part of my move!!!!

While researching moving companies I called several. Some were not at all professional on the phone and I felt no confidence in them. In the middle of November I received a flyer in the mail from Fresh Start Movers, filled out the online form, and received a quote pretty quickly. I did the same thing with some other moving companies and ended up booking another local company. 3 days before my move on December 18th, I called that moving company to obtain their Certificate of Insurance (COI), as my destination address requires one. I then learned that they do not carry insurance! My stomach turned. How had I backed myself into this corner?? So I called Fresh Start, hoping they could find space in their schedule. By some miracle, they had a cancellation on the day of my move because of the huge snow storm approaching New England. Elyssa was the original person who helped me, and Holly was the one to book my move the second time. Both were professional and awesome. The day came, and David and Jake showed up right on time, ready to work, and had me on my way. They did an excellent job, and I cannot say enough nice things about these four people as well as this company. If you want things done right the first time by trusted, personable, INSURED movers, call Fresh Start. Thank me later. 🙂

Fresh Start moved us from Worcester ma. to Wilmington nc in the middle of a snow storm. They were prompt, polite, and professional. We lived in a 3 story Victorian and they did a great job with our things, including my husbands motorcycle. Moving is stressful especially out of state. They reduced that stress by following through with every task in a timely manner. We arrived at our new home in Wimington 15 minutes early. They were there withen 5 minutes of our arrival. Super job guys.

The experience with this company and quality of work from start to finish was exceptional! It began with Holly setting up everything up for me, dealing with my inquiries and anxiety about moving, particularly during a pandemic. Her kindness and patience made we want to explore this company. Then James, the owner, did an onsite estimate. He took the time and space to explain how he and his crews operate, the company mission and their dedication and commitment to a smooth, effortless move and what to expect every step of the way. He emphasized they are there to assist in every and any way possible to remove the stress and indeed he held true to his word! I was impressed that he took the time to do the onsite estimate and spend the time to represent his company. I was immediately sold on going with his company, in addition to learning about the estimate range that was provided. Holly and James were authentic and truly cared about making this experience a stress-free one. The company does everything, if needed, from packing to moving and apparently beyond! The onsite crew led by Will and then Angel, set the tone for the day. They were also joined by 3 additional enthusiastic team members: Conor, Greg and David. We were greeted with introductions to the team members, smiles, energy, sincerity, genuineness and professionalism, even during this pandemic. These men, each on top of being just wonderful, dedicated human beings, had a tremendous sense of humor (which we all needed on one of the hottest days in July 2020)! They kept reiterating they were there to remove the stress and burden of this extremely stressful process. They took great care of our items, great care of us and wrapped what was necessary. They were extremely efficient, careful and were proficient at their job. They hustled to get us into our new home sooner and truly made the entire process seem effortless and fun! It was abundantly apparent they were true professionals as evidenced in their demeanor, sincerity, the care in which they handled items, methodically moved and packed the truck. I highly recommend this company and this team of 5! They were amazing! Professional courteous and efficient.
We hired Fresh Start for a long distance state to state move. They were a pleasure to work with from the onset. Kristen was very responsive to any questions and provided any information we needed. Rainell, John, Ezequiel, Wayne and Michael were all great. The load up went smoothly and efficiently, the arrival was right on time and the unload went even quicker. Oh ya, no damages!

So would I use them again? Yes. Would I recommend them to a family member? Absolutely.

The price we paid was slightly lower than one of the big name companies, however, this company has the ability for clutter removal, incase we had stay behind furniture we could not sell. Rainell and his crew did a very good job in packing/loading and offloading our household goods. There was small damage to our freezer (did not affect operation) and Rainell discounted our final payment on the spot.

It went fantastic!! David, Jake and Calib did a great, professional job. They were polite and very careful of our furniture and ‘other’ things. A year before, this Co. moved us from our home to an apt. in Worcester and they did a fantastic job then! It was so hot that day, but they kept working. This recent move was done just before a big snowstorm was coming in. The co. was able to get us out the day before we were supposed to move. The move went great! Our crew led by David was exceptional, they were timely, professional and treated our furniture like it was their own. We had some pretty unique items and they took the time to break them down completely and wrap them with blankets and shrink wrap and put them back together like new. We had a lot of glass and nothing was broken! I had a desk that was very large and heavy and they broke it down and got it into the room with no damages. All the crew was wonderful but I can tell you that Brian and David were amazing. Respectful, careful and nice young men. Would hire them again in an instant.

We had an awesome experience with Fresh Start Movers. The process from beginning to end was very easy and took away all the stress that an August 31 move in the city usually has! I worked with Holly to get our quote and she was very thorough and attentive. The estimate that was provided was very detailed and straightforward so you know exactly what you are paying for. My crew was Tom, Daryl and Will and they were polite, prompt, and worked very efficiently. They were very skilled at getting a large, long dresser down a narrow 3 flight staircase. I wish it had been as easy for me when I moved it up there the prior year! I didn’t have any furniture that was damaged and all my belongings were accounted for. Yesterday, September 24, I moved after 36 years in the same house. I had some beautiful, oak pieces and was very nervous. I called Fresh Start Moving Crew and from the time I called, and spoke to Kristen, my mind was put at ease. Due to house closing issues, I had to change my moving date twice and Kristen effortlessly was able to accommodate those changes. for me. On moving day Greg R., called to say when they would arrive. He and his crew, Alfred and Matt N. arrived on time, wearing company shirts. They were very professional, pleasant, and incredibly strong. Some of my very big, heavy furniture had to be moved 2 flights down to the driveway and truck. All the furniture was transported to my new home and placed where I wanted without any damage. The crew wasted no time and their smiles assured me all was going well. This company is very reasonably priced and at the end I was charged the quoted price. No surprises. The move went extremely well and was done in a very professional and cordial manner. Angel and Will were the two movers we had and they worked hard, carefully, and were very good at solving issues with patience and persistence. The house we were moving from was a small antique house with very narrow hallways and stairwells. They were able to move some large bureaus and a king-size bed mattress and several boxsprings down a stairwell that frankly was a work of art. We moved out of our old house one day and into the new house the next day. I could not have been happier with the efficiency and care of the moving crew. They not only ran back to get more items to move, but they hustled with their arms full of boxes. When you pay by the hour, you love to see that. These people were professional all the way – they put things where we wanted, solved problems in getting large items into the house and up stairs, and made sure everything was done the way we wanted it. I used the Fresh Start Moving Crew for the second part of my move on July 5, 2017. They were fantastic!! I would highly recommend this mover to all my friends, family and neighbors. They were punctual, courteous, friendly, professional, respectful, nice and patient. The first part of my move in May 2017 was an extremely unpleasant experience with another moving company who had scammed me. I called Fresh Start Movers to do the second part of my move after I realized my belongings were not stored properly, many glass items were not wrapped and most of my things were just thrown into the storage unit. I explained my horrible experience to Mary (the office manager) and James (the owner) of Fresh Start Moving. They were very sympathetic and understanding of what I had gone through a few months prior. They were aware of the fact that I wanted to go slow with this move, as I needed to take pictures as evidence against the first movers I hired. James even gave me tips regarding who to call (AG, BBB, MDPU, FMCSA) and what websites to visit to make a case against the other company. They took the time to explain the situation to the 5 guys who they sent to my house for the move. They did everything in their power to make sure I had a positive experience for the second part of my move. The guys could not have been more wonderful, cooperative and patient as I took pictures of my damaged belongings. They were horrified to see how everything was packed. They explained to me the right and wrong way to pack, wrap and store specific household items. They told me how things SHOULD have been packed. James gave me one guy for free and also an hour of moving time for free. I think he felt badly about everything I had gone through with the first part of my move. He even came back to pick up the majority of my boxes for me so I didn’t have to dispose of them myself. He also agreed to sign a letter for the Attorney General regarding all of the damage to my furniture and how the other movers incorrectly packed most of my items. Thank you Fresh Start Movers, you made me have faith in moving companies again!!!! I wish I had hired you for the first part of my move!!!!

We were delayed by a snowstorm and their truck not starting because of the cold. They rented a truck and were only 1 1\2 he’s late. Adam and Blane were very respectful and fast they loaded up a truck full of 20 yes of stuff in 1 1/2 hrs . Blane was even working on his birthday. They finished the whole move in 4 he’s. Best $700 we ever spent. They were extremely professional and fast. They took good care of our property, and in fact offered to replace a piece of furniture that had some preexisting damage, thinking that they caused the damage themselves. I would definitely do business with them again.

The guys with The Moving Crew did an outstanding job. They arrived on the morning of the move in Massachusetts, got everything packed up, and met me the following morning in Maryland to unload. The crew was extremely professional, and kept me informed every step of the way. I couldn’t have been more pleased!

They were extremely efficient and the team was friendly. James was incredibly kind-hearted and easy to work with. I have nothing but praise for them. Their prices were incredibly reasonable. They let us know they were running about a half hour late and increased the team from two to six people at no extra charge.

They moved us from a 2nd floor one bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom 1st floor apartment. This was for three hours of transit time.

I recently moved and had team (Greg. R, jayvon s and Dakota.R) from West Springfield Ma. They were very nice and most importantly quick, helpful and careful. I would definitely use this team and or the company again! I was happy with their service and they should be recognized for representing the company so well and did a great job!! I would recommend these workers and the company if anyone plans on moving. The price was also fair and reasonable. I also like to acknowledge Holly who assisted me with organizing the move time and date. She was so patient with me when I had to reschedule a date BC of a work conflict and I appreciated being accomdated and receiving such great customer service.

This was a great moving experience for us. This company knows what it’s doing. 6 guys showed up. On time and ready to work. They were nice, respectful and funny. They got our move done much faster than expected. The lead mover Rainell knew exactly how to direct his crew. His crew Will, Corey,David, Juan and Wayne worked hard but were careful. They had no problems managing our piano. I was impressed from beginning to end with them and would not hesitate for one second recommending them to a family member or friend. They had competitive rates and did a great job. Thank you guys for making a stressful much better than expected. Top marks to this company from my wife and myself. Keep up the superb work.

These guys are fantastic they show up on time. Their crews are excellent. They are friendly and very good at what they do. They moved a large heavy sofa bed through a series if turns and doors and got it done with no issues. Have used them twice and will use them again

What a great crew! Tyler, Ceaser and Shaggy were terrific. Treated our furniture with great care. Knowing we were moving to a home on a very bumpy road they made sure to wrap all the furniture and secure everything so it wouldn’t get shaken loose. Pleasure to work with these young men.

We received a post card in the mail from Fresh Start Moving when we listed our house for sale. I kept it aside because I already had another mover in mind. As the closing time was getting closer I decided to contact them for a quote, even though I had a quote from the other company, who I had used years ago. From the get go, they were very polite and informative. Because of Covid we did a virtual walk through of our home with the estimator. I received the quote and it was lower than I expected. I checked out their reviews and I liked what I saw. The crew, led by Rainell arrived on time and did a walk through of our home . They were very respectful of our home and the furniture. The hardwood floors were covered, furniture was wrapped and carefully put on the truck. When we got to the new home, they did the same thing….walked through the house and showed the same respect for the new home. What impressed us was that the crew was intentionally careful with our belongings. The crew, Caleb, Tyler, Nate, Emanuel and Jake were fun to have around. They enjoyed the work, and they all got along and worked well with each other. We loved watching the interactions among them. They were funny and they all got along. I would highly recommend this company. They are far better than any company we have used in the past.

We had a short 3 mile move but a lot of stuff. David was reassuring and extremely professional and made a great supervisor. Bryan was the Tetris master who was fantastic at packing boxes into the truck and visualizing getting stuff through doors and whatnot! We had a very hard working crew through the hottest day of this year -which was tough! Emanuel, Nick, Everette, Will, Jorge and Andy were professional, fast and polite.

We just used Fresh Start today to move from an apartment to our first house. The crew, Tyler, Cory, Wayne, and David, showed up on time and worked shockingly fast despite blazing hot weather. They did a great job protecting our furniture and were really cheerful, sweet, and communicative the whole time. The price was quite reasonable too, thanks in large part to how quickly they worked.
